About Us

The Wine Club was established at The Royal Yacht Hotel in 2014. Headed up by the hotels Operations Manager Claudio Abreu. A wine lover himself, Claudio has been on trips all around the world.

Holding an MBA in International Hospitality Management, running his business 'My Home Event' and having worked at The Royal Yacht Hotel for over 10 years, Claudio is no stranger to the hospitality industry. Claudio has a particular interest in wine, also holding his WSET Level 3 in Wines & Spirits. He has visited wine regions all over the world including France, Italy and Chile. This love of fine wines led him to set up 'The Wine Club' in 2014, a platform for like-minded wine & food lovers to enjoy the finer things in life!


Steve Walker

Steve Walker, describes his dishes as creative British cuisine, perfected with modern techniques and finished with flair. An element of delightful surprise is added to every dish as his diners enjoy taste combinations that excite the palate, a true mix of style and substance.

His signature dish of 'Fillet of Jersey beef with asparagus & morels' was recently featured in the Charitable Bookings Recipe book along with other top chefs from around the UK.

In 2016, Restaurant Sirocco, was awarded 3 AA Rosettes highlighting the high standard of food and service on offer at his restaurant.
Peter Szwaczkiewicz

Certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers (Level 2) and WSET (Advanced Level 3), Peter is certainly an expert when it comes to wine. He has visited wine regions all over the world, including Italy, Hungary, Portugal, Croatia, Serbia and South Africa.
